The University of Alcalá (UAH) has a long history in Public Services Interpreting and Translating (PSIT) from the FITISPos (Formación e Investigación en Traducción e Interpretación en Servicios Públicos) Research Group (https://fitisposgrupo.web.uah.es), from the Department of Modern Philology (Translation area). The group’s main objective is to research the quality of linguistic communication with foreign population – mainly migrants. Its research is based on a multidisciplinary approach, studying mainly multicultural issues, related to ethnic minorities in which the linguistic aspect plays a prominent role, hence its link with translation and interpreting. The research group is continuously active both with regards to training and research. Its research and training capacity can be seen in different dissemination channels.

2) Regular organization of national and international conferences and meetings of academics, stakeholders, and professional experts from different fields.

3) Several research projects, promoting action-research initiatives in which researchers and professionals are able to adapt training proposals to professional reality and act on this professional reality:
