Once the pilot training module and curriculum design have taken place (WP3), an analysis will be carried out and the preparation of the next phase will follow. The training module design will take into consideration both the needs of target group and the competences of LLD PSIT, such as cultural awareness, ethics, terminology management skills, legislation knowledge, etc. The next stage consists in the selection, classification, and organization of already available training resources. Then, some of the material could be translated into Greek, Italian and Spanish if it is deemed convenient depending on the outcomes from WP2 and WP3 and additional material can be produced.
The specific objective of this activity is to organize and develop training material for blended courses, meaning material that could be used either on-line or/ and in live seminars. The material will contain a typology of exercises for PSIT trainees and indicative theoretical material, such as documentation techniques, terminology glossaries, videos of simulations (produced in WP3), testimonials (produced in WP2), etc.
The goal of this activity is to further help in the development of a structured and pedagogically correct material that will take into consideration the special needs of its future users. The design of training material will contribute to the general objectives of the project which are: (a) building a network of specialized PSIT in the three Mediterranean counties of migration routes, (b) exchange of best practices between partner institutions and (c) dissemination of best practices to the civil society and especially to the target group LLD PSIT.
The specific objectives:
- The development of evidence-based training modules based on the needs of bilingual/heritage LLD speakers.
- The creation of openly accessible training materials in Spanish, English, Greek, Italian, and adaptable to other languages.
- Resources to raise awareness of the importance of professionalising PSIT tasks, reusable by NGOs, associations, and government institutions.
- Reinforced collaboration between academic staff, students, NGOs, bilingual migrants, and heritage speakers.
